Sources and coverage

A documented location

We distinguish headquarters, operating sites and reported business addresses. Any employee figures require a dated source for that specific site. Each district match uses a sourced street location and the displayed congressional boundaries.

A company can have many locations. A point of presence does not mean the case was filed there, the disputed conduct occurred there, or that the defendant represents the district.

Coverage has limits

No listed defendants means none have a verified district location in this published dataset. It does not mean there are no cases, no affected organizations, or no business activity in the district.

The court’s location, a city name, or a ZIP-code center alone does not establish a business’s congressional district. Unresolved locations are not counted as district matches.

Sources and update dates

Boundaries, congressional membership, and defendant records have separate source and update dates.

Case links and location sources appear with each published defendant. Being named in a lawsuit is not a finding of liability.
